On Monday morning we (Mozilla) detected a very large crash spike affecting #Firefox users on Linux, specifically on an older version of a Debian-based distribution.

It turned out to be an interesting bug involving the #Linux kernel and #Google JavaScript code so let me tell you about it.

One thing I own which is cool as hell is a vibrating reed based tachometer.

Lots and lots of tiny reeds, each tuned for a specific frequency. Place it on a piece of equipment, and the reeds start to vibrate if they're the same frequency as the equipment.

We take issue with Google favouring its own online display advertising technology services to the detriment of competitors.

So we have sent a Statement of Objections.

Our preliminarily finds that Google is favouring:

➽ its own ad exchange AdX in the ad selection auction run by its dominant publisher ad server DFP
➽ its ad exchange AdX in the way its ad buying tools #Google Ads and DV360 place bids on ad exchanges

Our Statement of Objections does not prejudge the outcome of an investigation.

Tumblr reminded me that Miss Piggy and Kermit meeting Luke Skywalker and Yoda on the set of Empire Strikes Back is a real thing that happened.
