Slightly staggered to only just learn that west Africa has quietly installed a 3000km international electricity transmission grid over the last few years.
The CLSG and OMVG Interconnection projects have connected seven countries in total, including (I think) five which didn't already have a transmission network.
This will give huge areas reliable electricity for the first time.
